There are some very large international trade shows you should know about. If you are a seller I would strongly suggest to attend the trade shows because (1) you can find new clients there, (2) you can see how others (competitors) attract clients and this is a great competition analysis. If you plane to make an exhibition yourself, then you must attend few trade shows to understand how everything is done. There is no need to “reinvent the wheel” all you have to do is be a little better than your best competitor.

I would suggest to attend some local trade shows. You need to see how stuff works, prepare, and only then try to attend and take place in some international trade shows.

Here is the list of few large international trade shows:

Canton Fair (China)

This trade show is taking place in China two times a year – around April and October. This is one to consider if you are considering importing some products from china. There are about 200 000 attendees every fair, but this number is decreasing during the last year because of the crisis.

International Show of Agriculture (France)

This trade show is taking place in France, Paris and it is a must for those who work with agriculture and produce food. Size of the trade show ~ 600 000 attendees in 2007.

Tex-Styles India Fair

Everyone who is in textiles business should check out this trade show. India exports most quality products from Asia (from my experience). This is why the textile fair in India is one to consider.
